I started my programming and web development career through blogging. The word Blog which was originally from two words Web Log has gotten more and more popular. Today, there are possibly millions of bloggers all through out the world, each one writing with their heart’s content.

If you are a web developer, designer or programmer, you have probably started from somewhere – may it be the first project on college, the first personal website or maybe a simple tinker with the computer and the internet. Just as any race, learning has to start somewhere. The basics must be learned first. When these are mastered already, and then proceed to projects that require higher knowledge. These build up on each other and no matter how high it becomes, it all crumbles down to rubble when the foundations fail.

For me, blogging became a way to explore web development. I wanted to customize the look of my blog. That pushed me to learn HTML and CSS. Then, I wanted to modify a bit of my theme and customize how it shows my posts. That prompted me to learn PHP. All these work together and helped me learn the craft. These small beginnings might not teach you the actual coding and the syntax and all but it teaches you one thing. That is, the attitude of learning – and it all begins with a spark of curiosity.
